Defective Goods

Defective goods

Defective products come in all shapes and sizes, and range from electrical component faults, foreign objects in pre-packed food to toy components that children swallow.

If you have the misfortune to be injured by defective goods you should always try to do the following:

  • At the earliest opportunity report the incident to wherever you purchased the defective product from, do not accept a replacement product and do not hand back the defective product.
  • Take photographs of the defective product that caused the injury.
  • Report the accident to the local trading standards office.
  • If you need medical attention go to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department or your GP
  • Obtain the names and addresses of all witnesses to your accident.
